Vision & Mission
The vision and mission of the Good Shepherd Missionary is to serve God while bringing souls to the Lord for repentance. In Matthew 5:14-15 it says “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Because of this we believe that it is God’s work to bring forth our ideas and talents as the light of the world while having faith in God’s word. 1 Timothy 4:16 says Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. We believe that in aligning your vision with the vision and word that God has for your life, you will fulfill God’s mission and purpose for you on the earth. Our mission from God has called us is to bring 50,000 people to him to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
A vision surpasses a person as an individual. Our vision is to also change the lives of our members through various socio-economic projects. We know it is important to not only to make an impact on the lives of our members in a spiritual way but in a social way through future housing and nutrition programs. We have realized that creating housing projects for those members in financial need will greatly improve their quality of life which in turn will improve other areas of their life including their spiritual wellbeing.
We also have projects to give back to our members on charge cards that will have a percentage of funds that members have donated to the church returned to them to use to purchase food or everyday items that they need.
As a Christian when you keep a vision that God as given to you private, you do not fully honor the word of God. However, a vision that is made known and public to change and save the lives of others leaves a legacy and encourages others to do good in the world.
The church membership is currently divided into 11 cellular groups. Here at Good Shepherd Missionary Church it is our belief and mission to touch and account for each and every one of our members. To better achieve this we have created small groups that operate at the church within themselves. Each group follows the mission and vision of the church and function as support systems for one another in order to ensure that no member gets left behind while evangelizing and spreading God’s word to the world.
Our 10 Year Plan
We believe in God’s word to be fruitful and multiply. We currently have 2 locations, our main Campus in Miami, Florida and the other one in Fort Myers, Florida. Our 10 year plan includes to pay off our Miami Garden’s church campus while continuing to build our membership through the establishment of other locations in the South & Central Florida areas. We are also faithfully working to have well established socio-economic projects in place for our members to improve their quality of life. Projects include housing, college care packages, services for our low- income senior citizens, and cash rebate programs to name a few. This is the work that God has called us to do. Spread the word and care for His people.
Good Shepherd Give to Haiti Project
Prior to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Dr. Nicolas received a word from God that there were children that were hungry and needed food. After receiving this vision 2 weeks later the earthquake devastated Haiti. Within a week of the earthquake occurring, Dr. Nicolas and others were on the ground in Haiti helping children who were now orphans. Homes were rented for them, staff was hired to care for them, educate them and give them food daily. The Church continues to send money for these children monthly to ensure that they are being cared for. We have also provided small self-sustaining businesses to the care takers to ensure that the children can always continue to be taken care of. Eventually, God willing we will build a school that will not only educate them but also educate children in the surrounding area.
